Sea Shell Cellars 2015 Collection

Sea Shell Cellars

2015 COLLECTION

Varietals: 63% Syrah, 37% Grenache

A menagerie of worldly scents… your own flavor garden in a bottle!

Boasting the invigorating aromas of fresh violets picked near an open camp fire, the Collection is undoubtedly the most savory and floral of the 2015 Sea Shell lineup.  Once tasted, the wine yields generous flavors of succulent plums, fresh strawberries, and dried tobacco.  This wine also shows the broadest palate of the three, pleasantly full bodied, plush, and mouthwatering.  As the wine trails towards its finish, a bright spark of minerality emerges, giving it a complex, exciting finish!

The Syrah that is showcased in the 2015 Collection is all grown on a steep, south facing slope on the Sea Shell estate.  This well-drained, chalky limestone based soil and afternoon sun exposure maximizes the savory, varietal character of Syrah.  The Grenache used for this blend was fermented with 20% whole clusters to accentuate the bright, fruit driven nature of the variety and add to the complexity of the final cuvee.

The 2015 Collection was aged in 10% new French oak barriques for 19 months post fermentation prior to be bottled.
