Rolling alluvial terraces with decomposed limestone deposits along its slopes
This lot was picked early in the morning to keep the fruit cool prior to processing. The Syrah was then de-stemmed and sorted into small open top fermenters that were punched down 2-3 times per day. The Syrah was fermented and macerated on its skins for a total of 13 days prior to being pressed and barreled down.
Aging and Duration:
The Syrah was aged in a mixture of 500L puncheons and 225L barriques, all of which were French oak (~40% new).

The Syrah off of Sea Shell Vineyard is undoubtedly its most aromatically intense and savory variety. It is grown on upper, west-facing slope of the estate, it's steepest terrain.
