Sea Shell Cellars 2016 Grenache Rosé

Composition: 100% Grenache

Pick Date: 14 Sep 2016

Source: Sea Shell Cellars Estate Grenache Block 5

After an early morning pick to ensure that the fruit stayed cool, the Grenache was put directly into the press and gently squeezed in order to minimize skin contact and the pickup of any bitter phenolics.  After cold settling, the juice racked and inoculated to start a slow, chilled ferment that lasted for three weeks.

Tasting Notes: The 2016 Sea Shell Cellars Grenache rose is an on-demand, instant tropical oasis; like being in a mountain-side hot tub surround by two feet of snow.

Its nose presents a cornucopia of exotic aromas, mixing notes of guava and papaya with hints of hibiscus and coriander.  On the palate, layers of fresh cut peaches and nectarines emerge while the wine’s vibrant acidity carries it through to a crisp, refreshing finish.  This is a wine that demands to be enjoyed… by the glass or by the bottle!
