We are a certified California sustainable wine grower!

The Property

History

Established in 2001, the Sea Shell Vineyard is nestled on the banks of the Huero Huero Creek just one mile east of the Salinas River. The vineyard site was chosen for its unique microclimate and extraordinary soil composition. Along with the attention to detail in selecting the site, the original owner strategically selected grape varietals and their proper clones that would take full advantage of the nourishment the estate provides.

The Right Balance

Sea Shell Cellars focus is to achieve the very best flavor profiles in our wine; this starts with the careful stewardship of the land. The estate vineyard is managed very diligently by focusing on irrigation, canopy management and cluster thinning. We feel that focusing on these key farming fundamentals affords us the opportunity to achieve proper vine balance and maximizing fruit flavors in the vineyard, resulting in balanced wines that are deep in varietal character and terroir. The Sea Shell Vineyard consists of a total of 90 acres with 50 acres of planted vines. We are located approximately 6 miles from downtown Paso Robles.

A Sense of Place

Paso Robles Wine Country is an American Viticultural Area located in the San Luis Obispo County, California. It has approximately 26,000 acres planted with wine grapes, and is well known for its heritage varietal Zinfandel, Rhone-style wines, and "Crazy Blends," blends and styles that are unique to Paso Robles Wine Country.

Along your journey through Paso Robles Wine Country, take time to stroll the historic downtown to shop and dine. Boutique stores, wine country cuisine, and tasting rooms fill the blocks surrounding Paso Robles' Downtown City Park. A scene right out of a Norman Rockwell painting, completes the pictures of Paso Robles Wine Country. We encourage you to visit our tasting room which is located at 840 13th St., Suite G, in the heart of downtown Paso Robles.

Neighboring Paso Robles along the coast are the towns of San Simeon, home to Hearst Castle on the north, and the fishing village of Morro Bay to the south. In between you will find Cambria, Harmony, and Cayucos. All are within a short drive and worthy of your exploration. Much like the marine air influence to the winegrapes, the coast is a perfect complement to your Paso Robles Wine Country experience.
